Lene, a good friend of mine from Oslo, mentioned a loved professor of hers recently publishing a book that was a compilation of newsletters he had sent out over the years. She suggested that since I’m moving through this very new life change, entering love, moving to a village in Hungary, releasing control, it would be a worthy idea to follow suit and start one myself— with pictures and stories and the like.
Why am I writing it? Because I need a space to document what is happening and an audience keeps me accountable. What to expect? Pictures. Short stories. Gardening Stuff. Love triumphs, Love struggles. Ponderings! Poetry. And mostly, a snapshot of a process for me: entering a new landscape, learning who and how I am without the things I know: WiFi, the local language, the physical presence of close friends, consumerism, and--foresight. I hope you enjoy it.
